The Ullapool Museum is a wonderful place to visit for all the family. There are static exhibitions about boatbuilding and other local activities, changing projects relevant to the local area, a mass of genealogical information, and a regular audio visual display of the history of Loch Broom and the area.

To go back further in time drive north to Knockan Crag in the North West Highlands Geopark, where you can stand astride 600 million years of geological history.

Still further north are the ruins of Ardvreck Castle that played a part in the Jacobite rebellion.
